Matt Morgan is looking to bring his size and speed to ECU's OL

After recently committing to East Carolina last Friday, Wendell NC OL Matt Morgan is ready to hit the gridiron with the Pirates, and help the team in any way he can

Wendell (N.C.) Corinth Holders offensive tackle Matt Morgan recently committed to East Carolina and the 6-foot-5 260-pound Morgan is excited to bring his skill set and positive state of mind to Pirate football.

Morgan said that the hiring of new head coach Scottie Montgomery prompted him to commit.

"The selling point was the coaching change, and how coach Mo treats his players," said Morgan. "Plus, (offensive line) coach (Geep) Wade is an awesome coach and I couldn't see myself playing for anyone else."

Morgan is looking forward to getting the chance to play under Montgomery and is also excited to play in front of a passionate Pirate fan base.

"I'm looking forward to playing behind such an awesome coach and fan base," said Morgan.

Morgan is focused on being the best he can be on and off the field.

"I want to be a hard-working athletic lineman," said Morgan. "I'm going to work as hard as I can to do the best for my team. Besides, football, I'm looking for a great education and some great college memories."
