Commit Jerry Howard ready to play!

After his recent commission to ECU, Jerry Howard discusses how he is ready to play for the Pirates.

Recently committed recruit @JerryHoward has now made the decision to attend @EastCarolina on June 21st, 2016. Howard is a 6-foot-1 210 pound running back from Northwestern High School in Rock Hill, North Carolina. He is one of the top targets on the Pirates' recruiting board to join the football organization.

Howard said that he was more than ready play for ECU and attend a college fit for him.

"I was extremely excited to finally choose the best school for me and to finally get the decision-making process over with, God and parents helped me the most" said Howard. "Plus the atmosphere that surrounds East Carolina is great, great fans too."

Being an offensive player Howard will have to get accustomed to the new program for ECU, and for him it could come fast.

"It's structured just like my high school program, same offensive schemes, players have the same passion for the game, and even the same colors" said Howard.

Offensive Coordinator for the Pirates, Tony Peterson, had the greatest impact on the new commit.

"Coach Peterson really helped out a lot, he would continuously give speeches on how I should be or what I should do with the program and that gave me courage" said Howard.

Howard did speak a little on the new head coach Scottie Montgomery.

"I like him a lot, he is a fired up energetic guy and I do believe he knows what  he is doing, he is building something great."

Though Howard may not know his major for college yet he is sure of one thing.

"I'm definitely ready to get to ECU and show what I have to offer." said Howard.
