Blake Proehl adds a reliable set of hands to the 2017 class

The 2017 recruiting class added a big and reliable wide out earlier this week as Charlotte (N.C.) native Blake Proehl committed Wednesday

Charlotte (N.C) wide receiver Blake Proehl committed to East Carolina earlier this week, and adds a reliable set of hands to the Pirates' receiving core.

The 6-foot-1 170 pound wide out commented that it was the persistent efforts from Pirate recruiters that sealed the deal for him commitment.

"The selling point was definitely the coaches," said Proehl. "They have shown me a lot of love and have recruited me hard. They are awesome people who care about their platers."

Proehl commented that he is extremely excited to be committed to East Carolina, and is also excited to help the Pirates win.

"Being committed is an amazing feeling. I'm so exited," said Proehl. "I'm most excited to work with the coaches and help them win a championship."

 He also said that the program is headed in the right direction and that he he is confident in the direction the coaches are taking the program.

Proehl continued by saying that he wants to be a reliable wide receiver that his teammates can rely on as well.

He finished by saying the thing that stood out most to him on his visits and such was the passionate fan base ECU has.

"The thing that stood out most is how much the fans love ECU football," said Proehl.
