Kingsley Ifedi, who's committed to ECU, opened up his senior year with a gem

ECU QB Commit Kingsley Ifedi had a strong start to his senior season by accumulating almost 500 total yards in his first game. InsideECUSports caught up with him to talk about his performance

Charlotte (N.C.) Vance quarterback Kingsley Ifedi hit the ground running this past week, throwing for almost 500 yards and six touchdowns.

Ifedi said the performance was a very good confidence booster for his team and him and that it was a big win.

"It felt great," said Ifedi. "We were battle-tested early. It made me a better leader. I had to keep my guys motivated throughout the game and finish with a big win."

However, his performance is no surprise to him as Ifedi has set the bar high for himself and expects to execute at a high level all season.

"Stat-wise, I was expecting to put up those numbers," said Ifedi. "But this year, I am focused on how to be a great leader no matter what the scoreboard says."

Ifedi has high aspirations for his final season in high school, as he wants nothing less than to bring home a state championship.

"My mindset is nothing less than leading this Vance team to a state championship," said Ifedi. "I also want to have the time of my life and just stay healthy."

The final stat line for the 6-foot-3 210-pound senior was 495 total yards, with 152 yards rushing, and six touchdowns.
