"Our ability to run the football changed the game for us"

Greenville, N.C. -- East Carolina head coach Scottie Montgomery spoke to media about the past game against Western Carolina and the upcoming game against N.C. State

On Saturday, East Carolina takes on in-state rival the NC State.

Following Saturday's win, head coach Scottie Montgomery took a brief moment to congratulate his football team on the success they had against Western Carolina.

He praised the play of wide receiver Isaiah Jones, running back Anthony Scott , and the offensive line for their blocking.

Heading into this Saturday's huge matchup against NC State, Montgomery does not plan on changing his routine.

Players to watch out for on the Wolfpack's offense will be running back Nyheim Hines  and quarterback Ryan Finely. The Pirates also must also deal with a tough NC State defense.

East Carolina will have offensive lineman Messiah Rice and wide receiver Trevon Brown returning for this week's game. As the team gets back to work Monday, they will have to fix the minor mistakes.

"Great communication, great practices, and hard work" said Montgomery.

Those are the keys to success for the Pirates to win their next game against the Wolfpack
