Philip Nelson talks with the media after practice last night

GREENVILLE, N.C. -- After a huge season-opening performance last weekend, Philip Nelson turns his focus to towards the Pirates' next game against NC State on Saturday.

It is hard to have a better debut than Philip Nelson did this past weekend.

He completed 28-of-32 passes for almost 400 yards. However, Nelson knows this weekend is huge for ECU and Pirate Nation. He knows the Pirates need to gather themselves and prep for a very talented Wolfpack squad.

"There was no hangover from Saturday," said Nelson. "We came out and it was all business."

Nelson also knows that this is huge in-state rivalry and that there are serious bragging rights at stake.

"It's definitely a game we want to play our best ball in," said Nelson.

The N.C. States defense will also pose a huge challenge for Nelson and the offense.

"They are a great defense," said Nelson. "Solid all around."
