After this evenings practice, starting ECU DB Travon Simmons talks N.C. State game and prep

GREENVILLE, N.C. -- Starting defensive back Travon Simmons spoke with Inside ECU Sports about State, and the work ECU is doing to prep for this weekend

Travon Simmons, who electrified Dowdy-Ficklen with his first-quarter interception, walks us through that play and what the game plan moving forward as far as getting ready for N.C. state this weekend.

"The tempo of Western Carolina was huge,' said Simmons. "Corey Seargent made a good pass breakup and I was there to follow up and got an interception."

There are also many players on N.C.State's offense that the defense is paying extra attention to.

"Their guys move around a lot," said Simmons. "We have to keep an eye on their backfield and tight end."

Simmons also wants the team to focus on keeping their nerves in check.

"We need to calm down," said Simmons. "We can't make the moment too big. It's rivalry week...we're dealing with that too. We're making sure we communicate well."
