East Carolina is resilient following loss

Greenville, N.C.-- Coach Scottie Montgomery held a press conference to discuss the game against the Gamecocks and the next game against Virginia Tech.

East Carolina head coach Scottie Montgomery held his weekly press conference on Monday afternoon.

Montgomery said the team had a good intense practice on Sunday and is ready to get back on the field and play the Virginia Tech Hokies

In regards to Philip Nelson, coach Montgomery does not plan to shy away from his original game plan.

"We are going to lean on him hard," Montgomery said. "You go back and look at the game, he was not our problem in this football game. He made a few mistakes. When you play in almost 100 snaps and you have three snaps you want back, we just got to get everybody battling -- all 11 at the same time the way he battles."

According to Montgomery, a big key to the Pirates' success this weekend will be practice.

"We have got to win in practice." said Montgomery.
