Coach Montgomery discusses a rainy day practice and more

GREENVILLE, N.C, -- On a rainy day, East Carolina head coach Scottie Montgomery addressed the media indoors after practice earlier this evening and talked about fixing mistakes from last game and turning their focus to the Virginia Tech Hokies

It has been a rainy two days in Greenville. However, that is not stopping the Pirates from hitting the practice field and gearing up for a big contest this Saturday against Virginia Tech.

Montgomery said that the rain helped with ball security, and that they are working to fix their problems from last weekend's lost against the Gamecocks.

"I think it was a blessing to be able to be out there in the rain today," said Montgomery. "We spent about 15 minutes today on just ball security, That's not just carrying the football somewhere, but also receivers being in the proper alignment and blocking."

On fixing problems from last weekend, Montgomery had this to say.

"We probably got about 50 percent of it fixed," said Montgomery. "Our guys understand the problems."

When talking about the atmosphere they will deal with this weekend, Montgomery said his guys are ready.

"Blacksburg is big-time as far as atmosphere is concerned," said Montgomery. "Our guys know what they're in for."

Coach Montgomery ended the media session by saying his team is "resilient" and used words like to "undaunted" to describe how his Pirates are bouncing back.
