Following the East Carolina Pirates loss to UCF 49-17, offensive lineman J.T. Boyd had some words for the media.
He blamed the loss on the fact that his position group could not protect the quarterback, Philip Nelson, who was knocked out of the game after a hit to the head.
"Getting him hurt because of us up front is a bad feeling and we have got do better, " said Boyd.
Through practice, the team is starting to correct some of the mistakes that are being made in the games. It all comes back to fundamentals the line must stay low and aggressive.
"This week we have to rely on our coaching, technique, and fundamentals," said Boyd.
The Pirates will travel to Florida to take on USF Saturday, October 8th.
