As the college football season comes to a close and Winter begins to creep in, East Carolina takes the long haul up I-95 to face off against Temple at Lincoln Financial field in the heart of Philadelphia, Pa.
Temple, who are currently in second place in the AAC with an 8-3 record, is a very physical and talented team. The ability of the Owls to dominate the rushing and passing stats plays in their favor and puts them in a position to win.
The high level of execution this offense has means that the ECU defense will have to make sure they are aware of their assignments and execute on their end and do their best tos stymie the Temple offense.
One of the main question marks is ECU's quarterback situation. It will boil down to Minshew or Nelson, however, earlier this week, Nelson told head coach Scottie Montgomery that he really wants to get on the field Saturday. Coach Montgomery also mentioned the tremendous growth Minshew has demonstrated this season, and that he could, "become a big-time quarterback."
Saturday will definitely be a tough one for the Pirates, and they are going to have to bring their "A-game". However, this game is more about the pride of the seniors who will play their last game as a Pirate. James Summers, JT Boyd, and Zay Jones, who have given their all to this program will be hungry to get one last win.
