Unlike the Pirates' last game against the College of Charleston, where ECU managed to score only 35 points, the offense looked rejuvenated.
Though the Pirates lost the game to UNCW 81-71, the team looked much better.
The Pirates shot a 42 percent from the field, while holding the Seahawks to 44 percent. ECU only made four three-pointers in the game opposed to UNCW's nine. The Seahawks forced the Pirates into 15 turnovers and out-rebounded ECU.
ECU's defense was not able to contain the offensive onslaught by the Seahawks' guards Denzel Ingram and C.J. Bryce. The duo dominated the Pirates, scoring 51 of their team's 81 points. The Pirates had four players in double digits, with B.J. Tyson leading the way with 17.
UNCW improves to 11-1 and 5-0 at home, while the Pirates slipped to 7-5 and 0-3 on the road. The next game for East Carolina is against Presbyterian College Blue Hose Dec. 22 at home.
