"He has given East Carolina a verbal agreement," said Garner's father, Henry. "It's not on paper, but he has given them a verbal."
The 6-foot-1, 295-pound defensive tackle ripped up opposing offensive lines, as he finished his junior season with 90 tackles, 23 tackles for a loss, and 13 sacks. Jordan-Matthews tallied an 11-2 record with a loss in the playoffs at Cherryville.
This season he has helped lead Jordan-Matthews to a 5-2-1 record. Currently he is sidelined with a leg injury.
On film, Garner is a disruptive force that creates havoc in opposing backfields. Although he may not have prototypical size for a defensive tackle, he more than makes up for it with a non-stop motor and tremendous work ethic.
Garner was at football practice and we will have more from him later tonight so stay tuned
