"It felt good when they told me I made it," said Pace, who was one of 29 players selected to the team.
Pace, who committed to the Eagles in Oct., said Cass Tech (9-2) is clicking as they prepare to defend their Division-1 state championship at Saline (11-1) this Friday at 7 p.m.
"The season has been good except for those two losses," Pace said. "We just stick to our game plan and just keep everything going like we have been doing, we should be good. We got this little win streak going on in the playoffs.
"We just want to stick to our game plan, match up best against best, and get the job done. And then play that semifinal game and be back in the championship."
At 5-foot-10, 170-pounds, Pace plays on one of the most talented teams in the state, and says it has made him a better player.
"At Cass you improve every day, because it's just so much competition," Pace explained. "It gives you no choice but to get better. So I feel like I get better every single day."
With a month to soak in his commitment to EMU, Pace said there is no other place he would rather play his college ball.
"When I went Eastern to make my commitment, it suck in right there that that's where I want to be. That's where I want to play for the next four years," Pace said.
When Pace finally arrives in Ypsilanti next fall, he said his goal is to see the field right away.
"Oh yeah most definitely, first year in practice I want to come in there and compete for a job," Pace said on playing early. "Coaches tell me when I talk to them, there is going to be plenty of opportunities. So I got to make it happen. That's what I am trying to do.
"Starting 11, that's what everyone wants to do. So I don't have problem with playing nickel. As long as I am on the field and helping the team win--I'll do anything."
When asked to describe his game, Pace said he brings a lot of abilities to the table.
"I describe myself as a player with nice speed, great feet, great ball skills, very athletic, play's both sides of the ball, and can get the job done."
