The Eastern Michigan Men's Basketball team picked up its first loss in their first road opener against Jacksonville State University 61-54 Sunday. The Eagles (1-1) will now move onto the first ever EMU "Ice Man" Classic tournament at the Convocation Center this weekend.

Redshit junior forward Daylen Harrison led the Eagles with 14 points and nine rebounds in the game with redshirt junior Glenn Bryant dropping 13 points in the loss. Despite their efforts, the Eagles were still not able to pick up the win on the road in their second game of the season.

Eastern Michigan went into the half trailing 27-24. Afterwards EMU let up a deep scoring run to the Gamecocks (2-0) and struggled throughout the game. Jacksonville State started the second half by scoring quickly and moving the lead to 10, 36-26.

The Eagles were able to fight back and tie the game at 42-42 at the eight minute mark, and took the lead briefly 44-43 with 6:42 left, but were outscored 18-10 down the stretch.

EMU has looked good on defense with their 2-3 zone, but has been struggling on the offensive end of the ball and needs to improve.

The game between the Eagles and Eastern Illinois will begin at 7:00 p.m., this Friday at the Convocation Center.

The Eagles will open up their three-game home stretch against Eastern Illinois University and needs to pick up a much needed home win. Former EMU alumni and NBA Hall of Famer George "Ice Man" Gervin who starred for the San Antonio Spurs will be attending the game, which is named in his honor.
