YPSILANTI, Mich.—Eastern Michigan dominated in a much needed win over Siena Heights (Mich.), 87-49. The win ended a three game losing skid as Eagles played lock down defense to move to 7-1 at home on the season. The team performed much better on the offensive end which led to the blowout victory.

This was EMU's highest scoring outing of the season, as they finally started to hit open shots, shooting 55.0 percent from the field and 6-of-14 from three point range. The Eagles started the game with a 14 point run and never looked backed.

The Green and White defense played superb with 10 blocks and 14 steals. Junior Center Da'Shonte Riley led the team with five blocks and finished with 10 points.

Senior guard Derek Thompson scored a game-high 17 points, on 5-of-9 shooting from behind the arch. Red shirt Junior forward Daylen Harrison scored 15, and guard red shirt junior guard Glenn Bryant contributed 13, including two impressive alley-oop drunks.

The Eagle's win today was important to halt the skid and improve their confidence heading into a big road contest against the Kentucky. EMU's defense is playing elite and averaging 5.55 blocks per game which is 20th in the nation. However, their offense has struggled at times. EMU begins conference play on Jan. 9 at the Convocation Center against Ball State.
