Freshman wide receiver Chris Davis was earmarked as a player who could have made an immediate impact last season upon his arrival in Tallahassee. However, a knee injury scuttled those plans. Davis, who underwent successful surgery, is progressing nicely and should be 100 percent this year. Here is a quick Q & A with a player who is looking forward to being back on the football field this season.
After missing the entire last season with a knee injury what does it feel like to be back with the team and on the practice field this season?
"It feels great just to be back on the field."
How have the two days of practices gone so far for you out on the field?
"The two days that I have been on the field with the team has been just great. I just hope that I have not missed any steps and I am just hoping that I can get all of the offensive assignments down."
Do you feel that you could have an impact on the team this coming season in some form, possibly returning kicks as when you were recruited as an athlete you showed great promise at doing that?
"As of right now I cannot tell you what it is going to be. I can only hope for the best as the spring continues."
How does it feel to be playing for Coach Bowden?
"Florida State. Period."
What are your feelings on this year's young reciever corps? It seems that a lot of people question it because they are young and inexperienced?
"I think that we have a very talented squad"
