One of the most coveted players in the Sunshine State is Aaron Lynch. The 6-6, 260 pound DE from Island Coast has well over 50 offers. After some twists and turns, he made his final decision Tuesday morning.
"I just committed to Florida State," said an excited Lynch. "I am going to be a 'Nole".
The 6'6 talented athlete had a number of favorite's throughout the process and explains how it all unfolded.
"When I was a junior I was fortunate enough to visit each of the Big 3 for games and FSU was my favorite. I was ready to commit to them almost a year ago."
"We lost contact for a while and that is when Notre Dame really made an impression on me. I love Notre Dame and I committed to them. Watching them play this year, I just did not see how I fit in their defense. When I opened things back up recruiting wise, I focused on the three in-state schools."
"In the end, I am just most comfortable at FSU and I feel like my heart was always there. All of these schools are awesome with great coaches, but I feel like the best place for me is Florida State."
Lynch becomes the second Island Coast player to commit to FSU.....oddly he joins the fold after his younger team mate, 2012's Mario Pender.
"Mario is special, it is gonna be great to play with him again in college. He is a big play waiting to happen."
The timing of this announcement was not by accident,
"I wanted to get it out of the way before the playoffs. When my class came here, we came to a brand new school that was just starting a football program. Down the road is North Fort Myers and they have a ton of tradition with guys like Sanders, Kearse, and Devine. But a lot of us decided to get it done at Island Coast. We have a real shot at a State Title and that will be my only focus right now. We want to finish the deal."
Lynch will have one weekend of fun during the expected playoff run,
"We(Pender) will be at FSU for the Florida game. I am very excited to get back to Tallahassee."
