Taylor Terrific: FSU Loses ACC Title Game

Virginia Tech quarterback Tyrod Taylor had an MVP night in Charlotte, a 44-33 win over Florida State gave the Hokie's another ACC Championship.

Florida State took the opening kickoff and drove right down the field and looked to be on their way to a touchdown. E.J. Manuel found Taiwan Easterling in the back corner of the end-zone on third down, but the ball was knocked loose. FSU settled for a field goal and an early 3-0 lead.

After getting a stop, Manuel took over deep inside FSU territory and the Hokie's made their first of many big plays on the evening. A tipped pass was turned into a pick six and VT had regained momentum.

That mojo stayed with Taylor and VT for much of the first stanza. Ty Jones second rushing TD did cut the lead to 21-17 at the half and there was a feeling that FSU might have weathered the storm.

That was not the case as the Noles could find no answer in the third quarter for VT. They simply could not get them off the field on third down. A pair of quick touchdowns pretty much sealed the victory and a trip to Miami for the Hokie's.

FSU did fight to the final whistle, but it was not enough on this night. Florida State will play in the Peach Bowl(Atlanta), likely against Mississippi State.
