Taylor's 6'5'' and 215 pound frame has been getting him the attention of multiple BCS teams so far in the recruiting process.
"I have 12 offers so far. Florida State, Florida, Miami, Oregon, Purdue, Florida Atlantic, Kentucky, North Carolina State, South Florida, Cincinnati, Illinois, Northwestern have all offered me so far," he quoted.
He's pleased with the success he had on the field last season, but knows he's got to get better this off-season and is focused on doing so.
"Last season I had 36 caches for 636 yards and 10 touchdowns. I did pretty well, but I know I can get better," Taylor said. "I'm going to be on the Badger Elite 7on7 team this spring, and I'm also playing baseball. When I'm not going to those I'm working on getting bigger, I'm around 217 pounds right now. I just want to get bigger, faster, and stronger this off-season. I'm working on my footwork too, just so I don't lose any speed." When asked about Florida State, Taylor showed his excitement for the program.
"It's going great, they offered me on junior day and I was really close to committing. I'm going to wait just a little bit right now just to make sure I'm making the best decision. I was really impressed with them. Coach Coley the tight ends coach and Coach Dawsey are both really good guys," Taylor revealed. "It's all brick up there, and looks gorgeous. It's a really nice facility and the people were great up there. Overall it's a great school and has great facilities."
Taylor is still on the fence as to when he plans on making a decision. His initial though is to end the process early on focus on his senior season, but still wants to go on officials if it plans out.
"I really like the offers I've gotten, and I think I will commit before the season starts. I'd still like to take my five officials just to be able to go through the whole recruiting process, but right now I'll have to see on that," he finished. Kent Taylor boasts a 2.9 GPA and has taken the SAT and plans to take the ACT soon.
