Gray Updates Recruitment

Daniel Gray out of Lauderdale Lakes is another one of the talented safeties in a loaded secondary class of 2012 for the state of Florida. He's already shown elite speed, clocking a 4.37 forty and possess great coverage skills. He has the tools to play either corner or safety at the next level making him an intriguing prospect for college coaches.

It's been quiet on Gray's recruiting front, but he has garnered the interest of the Florida State staff early on.

"It's been great, an offer should be coming in very soon for me. I've been talking with Mark Stoops and he's says I have good hips to match my speed. I think things are going very well with FSU," Gray stated.

Gray says the interest is mutual and that he plans on taking a few trips to Tallahassee over the next couple of months. He states he's excited to see what it's all about.

"I plan on going to junior day and I also plan on going to the camp up there. I haven't been to Tallahassee yet, but I'm excited to see it. I've heard good things about it so far," he said. Gray said he will be busy this spring and early summer with camps and training for next season.

"I plan on working hard at getting better and faster, and attending as many camps as possible," Gray revealed.

Gray says he's got the Noles at number one currently, but some other big name schools have been showing him interest recently.

"Florida State is a good school and they approached me before everybody else, that's important to me. Miami, Florida, Georgia, and Virginia Tech are now trying to get in the picture too, I've been hearing from them all recently." Daniel also gave his top five teams, but said he'd like to end his recruitment early so that he can maintain his focus on the field and in the classroom.

"FSU, Miami, Georgia, Florida, Auburn are my top five. I'm going to decide pretty early. I want to get it over with and focus on my senior season. I just think it'll work out better that way," Gray explained.
