Before it was all said and done, Weatherford proved to many that he belongs in the same elite company. In fact, he was the most polished and had the best fundamentals of the three. What was the most impressive was the fact, he still revoring from a knee injury.
The Territory caught up with him to get his thoughts on camp and to find out what's next for the 6-foot-3, 210-pound standout.
How did you feel like you performed?
"I think I did all right. My knee is still kind of banged up. I wasn't as quick as fast as I would like to be. Throwing wise I did fine. Of course, I'm never going to be satisfied. I wish I could have thrown the ball a littler better but I did all right. I think I did average I would say."
What about your knee? Was a torn MCL?
"No. It's just cartilage in the knee. It got it cleaned up. It was probably a couple of months ago when they did it. Its just weak (knee) from recovering from the surgery. It's not too bad."
What did you get out of this camp?
"I learned a lot in running and stuff. I came out here to see what everyone else had. I got a good taste of that. I wanted to see where I stand."
What did you think of some of the competition? Did any of the quarterbacks, wide receivers or defensive backs stand out to you?
"They are all good. They are all good. You really didn't get enough time see everyone over and over but there's a bunch of talent I just wanted to come out and watch it."
What's up for you next? Will you attend anymore football camps?
What schools have offered you?
Did you grow up a Florida State fan?
What are your thoughts about if Florida State was to get a commitment from either Lee or Ingram first? Would that scare you off?
"Not at all. That's what competition is all about. I would just go down there and shoot it out. I'm not saying that's where I'm going to go but wherever it works out. There are a lot of good schools out there."
Are you going to make a decision early?
"To be honest, I'm going to wait it out. I want to visit all five schools and take my official visits and after that I'll probably sit down and figure it all out."
What is your best attribute as a quarterback?
"I think I'm a good motivator. I try and lead by example. My brothers taught me that. I just go out there and never give up. Crazy things happen in games and the best thing is too keep plugging away and sometimes it works out and sometimes it doesn't."
Do you think you'll be offered by one of the Florida schools?
"I hope so. I just want to have as many options as possible so I can sort them out."
