Chattting With Cornelius

Cornelius Ingram, a football/basketball standout form Hawthorne, was on hand at the Florida Nike camp in Gainesville Sunday to show his stuff. The athletic 6-foot-5, 205-pound quarterback, who ran in the 4.5 range during testing, didn't disappoint. Click here for this exclusive interview with Ingram and TheTerritory's Dave Peters. Peters spent the day in Hogtown and caught all the action. "I feel like I was the best quarterback here," Ingram told Peters.

Cornelius Ingram, a football/basketball standout form Hawthorne (Fla.) was on hand at the Florida Nike camp in Gainesville to show his stuff. The athletic 6-foot-5 and 205 pound quarterback, who ran in the 4.5 range during testing, didn't disappoint. At first he struggled with his accuracy and his ball floated some. But the more he threw the better he got. By the end of the camp, he looked like he belonged with the rest of the elite quarterbacks in the country. In fact, he might be the top athletic quarterback in the country before it's is all said in done.

TheTerritory caught up with Ingram to find out what his thoughts were on the camp and to find out what's in store for him next.

How did you think you did?

"Pretty good. I had to take my time through a couple of the drills at first until I got my mind set and it then got easier."

What do you think you got out of this experience?

"My technique. I never really had a chance to work on it. I really worked on it today. The coaches kind of embarrassed me a couple of times when I messed up. It's all love though. I think I did well."

What did you think of the competition? Did any of the quarterbacks, wide receivers or defensive backs stand out to you?

"I feel like I was the best quarterback here. Xavier (Lee) and Drew (Weatherford) were very good. They both can really throw the ball. But, I feel like I have an advantage because of my footwork and no offense to them but I can move a little better than those guys. I have a strong arm and I can do it all."

What's up for you next?

"I have some football camps coming up and I'm playing in a basketball tournament next week in Houston."

Note: After the camp was over, TheTerritory overhead a representative from Student Sports invite Ingram to the Elite 11 camp in California this summer. I take it that they were impressed as I.

Stay tuned.
