FSU's 10 Keys to National Championship

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. -- Florida State beat Florida and Miami last season for the first time since 1999. A 10-win season has started to make Florida State fans think about even more -- maybe even winning a national championship again. And there are plenty of reasons for optimism, from the resurgent defense to the improvement of quarterback E.J. Manuel to one of the nation's best special-teams units.

The question has been asked often: "Is FSU back?" While the program is certainly not at the level that it was when the Seminoles finished in the Top 5 in the Associated Press poll every year from 1987-2000, Florida State is clearly a contender for a title.

"I want our team to reach its maximum potential and be the best team that it can be," FSU coach Jimbo Fisher said. "That will be the measure of a successful season ...

"I hope we win the ACC (championship) and the national championship. You hope for all of those things but each team has to take its own identity. I hope we can maximize the potential we have."

With the talent on the FSU roster, there's a chance the Seminoles will live up to Fisher's high expectations. Click Here to see the 10 keys
