First there was Lorenzo Booker, and then came Whitney Lewis. Believe or not St Bonaventure high schools in Ventura (CA) will have another big-time prospect for the third straight year. Terrail Lambert, a 5-foot-11 and 181 pound corner, is grabbing the attention from coaches across the country, including Florida State. The good news for Seminole fans is that Lambert has family ties that extend to Tallahassee.

"My cousin Lorenzo Booker goes to Florida State," Lambert, who tallied 66 tackles, 11 sacks and nine pass break-ups as a junior, said. "Florida State is in my top 10 now. I'm keeping an open mind and I'm willing to listen to every school that talks to me."

Last weekend Florida State recruiting coordinator John Lilly was at St. Bonaventure high school to check out Lambert's talent.

"Coach Lilly was at my school last week to evaluate me," he said. "He also called me on the phone and told me that he liked my style. He also told me that I have the tools to play at Florida State."

Some of the others team's he's considering include Michigan, Southern Cal, UCLA and Miami.

"I have about 10 teams that I'm considering now," Lambert said. "I will probably narrow that list down to five schools after my season is over."

Lambert, who excels in the classroom by carrying a 3.4 grade point average, is looking for a school where he can win a national championship.

Earlier in the week, Lambert recorded the fastest 40-yard dash time (4.21) at the Nike combine. What else does he bring to the table?

""I fly to the football and I zero in on the ball carrier," he said. "I'm not afraid of contact. I'm trying to kill the man with the ball."

This fall Lambert will visit several teams unofficially, including Florida State.

So far Lambert's only two scholarship offers are from Northwestern and Oregon State. Look for that list to swell by the end of May.

Lambert, who squared off against his cousin (Lorenzo Booker) many times knows what it takes to stop him.

"Most people bite on his first move," he said. "The key is to zero in on his hips. If you don't, he'll be by you in a second."
