<b>Jae Thaxton,</b> of Hartwell (Ga.) Hart County, is considered on of the top linebackers in the Southeast. The Florida State coaching staff recognized his talent and offered him early in the process. TheTerritory recently caught up with the 6-foot-2, 215-pound standout to discuss his recruitment.

"Florida State and Auburn were the first tow schools to call me," the two-time all-state linebacker said. "Coach (Jody)Allen from Florida State called and he discussed a lot about the football program and education."

Right now Thaxton is open among Notre Dame, Georgia, Auburn, Louisiana State, Clemson and Florida State.

The three year starter is a tacking machine. In the past two seasons, he has totaled over 350 tackles.

"My goal for my senior season is to break my mark of 204 tackles," he said. "I'm going to work very hard in the off-season."

Thaxton, who excels in the classroom, is leaning towards majoring in engineering.
