Kyle Mitchum, from Erie McDowell High School, is considered one of the top 10 offensive linemen in the country. He recently received his 15th offer. I talked with his head coach Jon Cacchione to get the latest updates.

Kyle is a 6-5, 270-pound two-way lineman who earned second-team All-State honors last season and was first-team All-Conference on both sides of the ball. He's clocked a 5.0 40 and his combination of size and speed has him in the list of top 10 offensive line recruits in the nation. Mitchum has as impressive list of offers as anyone in the country.

Q: How Many years has Kyle started for your program?

Cacchione: He started on offense as a sophomore and started both ways as a junior last season.

Q: How many offers does he have at this point?

Cacchione: He has 15 offers in writing. Wisconsin, Florida State, Michigan State, Penn State, Pitt, Ohio State, Maryland, Virginia, West Virginia, Miami, Iowa, Illinois, Syracuse, Purdue, and North Carolina State. Notre Dame will be in to see him soon and they will probably offer at that time also.

Q: Does he have a favorite?

Cacchione: No. He is keeping it open and he will not make an early decision. He probably does have some schools that he likes more than others but he doesn't want to let anything out at this point.

Q: Did he have a favorite school growing up?

Cacchione: Yes. Florida State was his favorite team growing up, but I don't know how much that will play into it. Distance isn't a issue with him, though.

Q: What are his strengths on the football field?

Cacchione: He is very physical. He is very flexible and has excellent mobility. He gets low. He is very strong and just a tough kid.

Q: How much does he bench press and squat?

Cacchione: He can bench press 325 pounds and squat 425 pounds. He did 28 reps at the Nike Camp. He also ran a 4.4 shuttle at that camp.

Q: Does he plan on attending any summer camps?

Cacchione: No, he isn't going to go to any summer camps, but he will be going to the Metro Index Camp. He plans on visiting the schools this summer to get on campus to check them out.
