In the second half, Charleston Southern went on a 12-0 run to cut Florida State's lead to 53-34 with 10:24 left in the game. But the Buccaneers could not close the gap, and Florida State improved to 6-0 in the series between the schools.
Florida State made 48.4 percent (30 of 62) of its shots.
The 'Noles used their height advantage and athleticism to outrebound the Buccaneers 45-30. Gibson had four blocks for Florida State.
Both teams were plagued by turnovers. Florida State had 21 and Charleston Southern had 20.
White, a sophomore forward, made 8 of 12 shots from the floor. His previous career high was 19 points against Hawaii in December 2010.
