On getting back to practice:
"Felt good. I got my body back, got my legs back and we're getting back to basics."
On getting an NFL evaluation:
"Yeah, just to see how people feel about me and it doesn't base anything off of my decision, but just to see where I am."
On the Champs Sports Bowl with ND:
"Big schools, great traditions, big teams, great players. We've got to bring our A game."
On having time off:
"It was alright, I still did some conditioning and workout myself, but it was alright. Yeah anytime you have a ten day break you go out there and feel fresh."
On playing ND:
"Of course(I'm excited). Both teams hold a lot of weight with tradition. I'm ready to play."
On the defense playing well and what's working:
"I think that it's just we're learning stuff throughout the year and we just came together and playing right now. We're clicking and we're enjoying it."
On the NFL paperwork process:
"I kind of want to come back for my senior year. That's what I am looking forward to. There are still things that I want to accomplish yet."
On his body:
"It's different from high school to college. My first year as a starter in high school, [you are] trying to tough it out for the team because you don't want to let the team down. You definitely need those days to get your body back right. It was a tough long season. We, as a team, appreciated those days off."
On if it feel like a brand new year:
"Yeah, we're just trying to set the tone. It's like a totally different new year. We just want to start this thing off, kick things right for this bowl game."
On playing Notre Dame:
"For me, it was great because I was recruited by them. Just to be able to play against them every once in while, I was excited."
