PA OL Talks About Summer Plans

Erie (PA) McDowell's Kyle Mitchum is developing a reputation as the top offensive lineman in the Northeast. The 6-foot-5 and 270 pound standout has the offers to back it up. So far he boasts double-digit offers, which includes ones from Florida State, Miami, Pittsburgh and Penn State. Recently, The Territory caught up with him to find out what his plans are for the summer.

"This summer I'm going to workout and take several unofficial visits," he said. "The schools that I planning visiting are Pittsburgh, Ohio State, Michigan, North Carolina, Florida and either Miami or Florida State."

Mitchum is open at this time and he wants to take these visits to give himself a better Idea of where he wants to spend the next for to five years of his life.

"I want to take these visits so I can narrow things down by summer," he said. "I could decide by summer or whenever. My options are wide open I'm looking for a school that best academic and football situation for me."

What kind of player is the Erie native?

"I'm very quick off the ball and I'm aggressive," he said.

This past spring, Mitchum has a very impressive showing at the Penn State Nike camp. He was timed in the 40-yard dash in 5.0 seconds and he ran the 20-yard shuttle in the 4.3 second rage. He also benched-pressed 185 pounds 25 times.

After viewing some film on Mitchum, The Territory is in agreement with his description of his play. He's got very quick feet which helps him to pull. He also is very aggression and he finished off his blocks well.
