Glasper List Noles At The Top

Concord (CA) De La Salle's Willie Glasper, is another top athlete from one the country's premier high school football programs. The 5-foot-11, 181-pound corner with blazing 4.34 speed in the 40 has the Noles at the top of his list. Will the Seminole offer him anytime soon?

Glasper needs a slight improvement on his core grade point average or test score to be on track to academically qualify. In early June, he retook the SAT test and with a slight improvement, it could trigger an offer from Florida State.

"Coach Lilly told me to call back when I got my SAT and ACT scores back", Glasper, who ran an impressive, 3.83 20-yard shuttle at the NorCal Nike camp, said. "As soon as I get my ACT scores back I'm going to call him back to let him know."

According to Glasper, he scored 900 on SAT on his first attempt and that he will probably need an improvement of 30-40 points to qualify.

Glasper has his childhood favorite (Florida State) in his top two along with Oregon.

"I've liked Florida State since I was a kid," he said. "I like them because they're a winning program and they know how to compete. At Florida State I would have a chance to start early."

Some of schools that have already offered him are Washington, Oregon, Oregon State, Arizona, Arizona State, Cal, Nebraska, and Utah.

What's his style of play like?

"I like to jam the guys off the line," he said. "I'm physical and I like to hit. I also can break on the ball and the read the quarterback well."

Last year, Long Beach (CA) Poly Kevin Brown grew up a die-hard Florida State fan. However, he turned down his childhood favorite because the distance was too far from home. According to Glasper, that will not be a factor with him.

"Distance will not be a factor with me," he said.

Yesterday, the went public with its rankings and the Northern California star checked in as the 83rd best player and the 5th best cornerback in the country.
