Worton Commits to FSU

Florida State remained hot on the recruiting trail on Sunday with the commitment of 2014 South Dade wide receiver Chris (C.J.) Worton. The 6'1, 180 pound athlete was a stand-out at the first session of the Jimbo Fisher Football Camp.

Chris Worton is no stranger to the recruiting process after his brother, J.J. Worton, signed with UCF a few years ago. The younger brother wasted no time committing,

"Today I committed to Florida State. It has always been my dream school and it just felt right today."

At 6'1, 180 pounds the rising junior is known for his great hands and crisp route running, "I had a great time at camp, I thought I performed well, and I love how Coach Dawsey teaches the position."

Worton has made several trips to FSU over the last year, "I went up for a game last year, went to camp in June, and then went back in July where I met with Coach Fisher and Coach Dawsey. After the last visit I knew that FSU was going to be home."

Worton will play mostly wide receiver next year , but will also play some Safety, "I will play anywhere FSU wants me to play. I expect it to be WR, but it I am open to anywhere they want me."

Worton is looking forward to speaking with his brother, "He is actually in two a days right now and I have not had a chance to speak to him. I know he will be excited and will support me in my decision."

The commitment gives FSU four prospects listed at wide receiver already for the 2013 class. Interestingly three are now from Dade County (Jacob McCrary and JoJo Robinson) and the fourth is from 80 miles away in Immokalee (J.C. Jackson). Robinson and Jackson could also play DB down the road.
