Four-Star LB Impressed With FSU Camp

Jae Thaxton, a four star linebacker prospect from Hartwell (GA) Hart County, just returned from the Florida State football camp. Recently, TheTerritory caught up with the 6-foot-2 and 220 pound run-stopper to find out how it went.

"It went well," Thaxton, who racked up over 350 tackles over his sophomore and junior seasons, said. "Coach Steele put us through some tough agility drills and I definitely am going to be in shape for the season."

Thaxton, who is one of the top linebacker prospects in the Southeast, got a change to talk with Coach Steele and Coach Bobby Bowden.

"Coach Steel is a real good coach and it looks like he knows what he's talking about," he said. "I like Coach Bowden. He knows my area of the country real well. I was impressed with Florida State. They are definitely in my top five."

In addition to Florida State, Thaxton likes Miami, Georgia and Notre Dame.

What makes the Hart County linebacker so special?

"My coach says I nose for the ball," he said. "I think I have some pretty good instincts."

Thaxton, who remains open, will wait on making adecsion until he makes all of his official visits.
