Ronald Darby took to Facebook last week after having surgery on January 14th to repair a sports hernia.

Noledigest has since learned that the operation was successful, but it is likely that Darby will be forced to sit out a good portion of the Spring to undergo physical therapy.

Darby had a stellar freshman season as the Seminoles third cornerback. He played in all 14 games, was in on 22 tackles, had one forced fumble, and led the team with eight pass breakup's.

In addition to possibly missing spring football workouts, Darby will likely have to miss at least a portion of the Track and Field season as well.

Darby would likely be a member of the relay team as well as a participant in both the 100-meter and 200-meter. In the 2011 World Youth Championships, Darby placed fourth in the 200-meter and won the bronze medal in the 100-meter.
