Bracy Earns ACC Performer of the Week Honors

Bracy was also an honorable mention for the USTFCCCA national athlete of the week honors.

Amanda Winslow seemingly always runs her best from the front of the pack and the Florida State senior distance standout didn't waste any time establishing that pattern in Saturday's Invitational Mile at the Razorback Invitational meet.

Winslow took the lead early and never looked back at the Randal Tyson Track Complex, racing to victory in a Florida State school record 4:33.22.

The performance by the senior from Lawrenceville, Ga. was not overlooked as she earned the first Atlantic Coast Conference Women's Performer of the Week honor of the indoor track & field season for the Seminoles.

In addition to Winslow, freshman sprinter Marvin Bracy, who won the 60-meter dash at the Razorback Invitational in a nation-leading time of 6.61 seconds, earned a share of ACC Men's Performer of the Week honors. Bracy's Seminole debut also garnered USTFCCCA honorable mention National Athlete of the Week honors. He shared the league honors with Virginia Tech senior Andrew Ziegler, who posted an NCAA-leading mark in the weight throw.

Winslow, one of the most decorated distance runners in program history, took down Susan Kuijken's 2009 school record of 4:34.11, which was set at the ACC Indoor Championships and remains the conference meet record.

"Amanda was in the zone at Arkansas," FSU women's distance coach Karen Harvey said. "That is a great track for her and she's had a lot of great performances there. At the same time I'm not surprised with how well she's doing at this time. She's a senior and everything is coming together. I'm just really excited to watch her have a great end to the indoor season. Certainly things are off to a great start."

Her winning time is the second-fastest time among NCAA Division I runners this season and the fastest non-converted time. Dartmouth's Abbey D'Agostino is credited with a converted time of 4:31.47. It is also the third-fastest mile time by an American this season.
