TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (seminoles.com) - Florida State, the reigning ACC Champion and third winningest ACC program in the last eight seasons, plays its final road game of the regular season as it travels to play North Carolina at the Dean E. Smith Center in Chapel Hill, N.C. on Sunday, March 3, 2013 at 2:00 p.m. The game will be televised by CBS Sports.
Florida State comes into its game at North Carolina fresh from its 76-62 win over Wake Forest on Tuesday night in Tallahassee and enters its game against North Carolina with two wins in its last three games against the Tar Heels - including an 85-82 win in the championship game of the 2012 ACC Tournament on March 11, 2012 at Philips Arena in Atlanta. In addition to two Seminole wins in their last three games against the Tar Heels, Florida State has won four of the last seven games since defeating the No. 1 ranked Tar Heels, 75-70, on March 14, 2009 in the semifinals of the 2009 ACC Tournament at the Georgia Dome in Atlanta. That win advanced the Seminoles to the ACC Championship for the first time since joining the nation's most prestigious conference in 1991.
Following Sunday's game against North Carolina, the Seminoles will close out their regular season with home games against Virginia (March 7, 7:00 p.m.) and NC State (March 9, 2:00 p.m.) before heading to Greensboro, N.C. for the 60th Annual ACC Tournament at the Greensboro Coliseum.
