FSU Earns National Seed

After a disappointing end to the regular season, the Seminoles were still able to earn a top-eight seed.

The NCAA announced the field of 64 on Monday for the 2013 NCAA Baseball Championship. Florida State earned an at-large bid out of the Atlantic Coast Conference despite dropping four straight games to finish the season.

The Seminoles, who are the No. 7 national seed, will host a Regional this coming weekend, and a Super Regional the following weekend if they are able to advance. First up for the Seminoles is Savannah State who is the fourth seed in the Tallahassee Regional. Alabama (2) and Troy (3) are the other two teams that were placed in the Regional.

Alabama will face off against Troy in the first game of the Regional at noon on Friday, while the Noles' are slated to begin at 5 p.m.

The Tallahassee Regional is matched up with the Bloomington, Indiana Regional which includes Indiana as the host and is rounded out with Austin Peay, Florida, and Valparaiso. If the Seminoles are able to advance and the Gators pull the upset, there will be a rivalry showdown for the right to Omaha next week.
