Register Likes Two ACC Schools

Four-star outside linebacker Chris Register has a pair of ACC Atlantic Division rivals fighting for his services.

Four-star linebacker Chris Register has numerous offers on the table, but only two schools really stick out in his mind; Clemson and Florida State.

While Clemson and Florida State seem to be ahead of the pack in the battle for his services, the rising senior at Dudley High School in Greensboro, N.C., says that the tigers are the team to beat as of now.

"Clemson is on top," he told CUTigers in a recent interview.

Just what has the Tigers in the driver's seat?

"They were the first to offer. I just love the atmosphere at Clemson."

However, things could change after Florida State brings Register in for a visit, which as of now is scheduled for June 11. Regardless, Register isn't going to waste any time to announce his decision. He says it could even come after his visit to Tallahassee is concluded.

"I may do it in the middle of June."

While it seems to be a two-horse race between the ACC Atlantic Division rivals, there have been a number of other schools stopping by to get their crack at the 6'4, 230lb linebacker.

Miami, Tennessee, Kentucky, NC State, and North Carolina all dropped by to check on him last week as well.

In his junior season, Register recorded 111 tackles, 10 tackles for loss, seven sacks, five forced fumbles, two interceptions and three pass break ups.
