Walton enjoying the recruiting process

Miami (Fla.) Booker T. Washington has produced an incredible amount of talent over the years and that will not change in 2016. Sophomore running back Mark Walton has already received high interest from a lot of big name programs and received three offers from Florida State, Miami, and West Virginia.

Walton grew up as a fan of the Miami Hurricanes but says that will not stop him from checking out other programs. Walton has named a top-6 of Alabama, Florida State, Georgia, Miami, Tennessee, and West Virginia.

When it comes to Florida State Walton likes what he sees in the offense.

"I like how there run game is going and developing," Walton said.

Being recruited this early in his high school career has meant a lot to Walton.

"It feels great knowing schools are looking at you for the game you love and spend a lot of time working on," said Walton.

Booker T. currently has multiple players on their roster that will be attending FBS schools, including quarterback Treon Harris. Walton says that Harris is always talking to him about Florida State.

"Treon loves the Noles," Walton said. "He wears their shirts and pants all the time in practice or in weight room. That's his school. Treon and Nigel Bethel have conversations about FSU and UM and when they both arrive on campus. That's a rivalry game and the two high school teammates will be college rivals."

The 5-foot-11, 182-pound running back has been vital to the success of the Booker T. program this year. They are currently the number one rated high school team in the country with two wins over top 10 nationally ranked teams.
