2015 Linebacker checks out Florida State

Hoover (Ala.) 2015 outside linebacker Darrell Williams took a trip down to Tallahassee to check out Florida State as they took on the Miami Hurricanes.

While Williams will not name a top five the Florida State visit definitely put the Seminoles firmly in his mind. The atmosphere Saturday night in Doak Campbell got his attention.

"It was great! A lot of people," Williams said. "A lot of fans! It was just a great place to be!" Williams came down early and was able to see some behind the scene things. That was what he enjoyed the most on his visit.

"My favorite part was the 3D film," Williams said. "I also liked being on the field and seeing how they do things in order for them to be as good as they are."

Before the game started Williams was able to speak with Florida State defensive coordinator and former Hoover coach Jeremy Pruitt.

"I talked to coach Pruitt and he was saying how he was glad to have us there," Williams said. "We talked about when he came and saw us play."

During the game Williams paid special attention to the Florida State line backing corps.

"I think they played good! Head Coach Jimbo Fisher told them that if they didn't let Miami score in the second half then they will when the ball game," Williams said. "I also think the FSU linebackers look a lot like me as far as frame and similarities of how we both play."

Williams is the No. 14 rated outside linebacker and the No. 149 overall in the 2015 Scout 300. He currently holds offers from Florida State, Tennessee, Mississippi State, and Cincinnati.
