Saunders fully committed to Florida State

Houston (Texas) Kinkaid 2014 4-star tight end Mavin Saunders committed to Florida State back in mid-July. Since then rumors have swirled that he wasn't fully committed to the Seminoles. That is put to rest now that Saunders took his official visit to Florida State this past weekend for the Syracuse game.

"I am fully committed now," Saunders said. "I am not taking any more visits."

Saunders really enjoyed checking out the campus.

"The campus was pretty nice and everyone is nice," Saunders said. "It was good coming up during a game to see what the campus is like with all the students."

His favorite part of the visit was being around the team.

"I really enjoyed being around the team," Saunders said. "Wilson Bell was my host. I enjoyed talking to the coaches as well. We talked about how I will be used in the system and just about the area around Tallahassee."

As far as the distance from Texas goes, it is actually a plus for Florida State. "I'm from the Bahamas," Saunders said. "My family still lives in Bahamas. I'm actually moving closer to home."

Saunders tried to do some recruiting for the Seminoles as well, "I spent time with [2014 4-star offensive tackle] Damian Prince," Saunders said "I was trying to recruit him to Florida State."

The 6-foot-5, 240 pound Saunders is the No. 11 rated tight end and the No. 246 overall in the 2014 Scout 300. Kinkaid is 11-0 on the season and Saunders is a major part of their success. So far Saunders has 34 catches for 453 yards and eight touchdowns.
