Thoughts on FSU-Idaho

Despite fairly sloppy play, the 'Noles set a school record with 80 points against the Idaho Vandals.

1. This team played their C- game today and still put up the most points in Florida State history.

2. The running backs collectively were awesome. Freeman, Wilder, and Williams all went over 100 yards and each scored touchdowns. Ryan Green added a receiving touchdown.

3. Winston played well. Yes his completion percentage wasn't where it normally is, but he took more shots down field so that is expected. He did hang on to the ball too long a few times and he took way to many hits.

4. The offensive line did a fantastic job run blocking. They opened up massive holes all day long. Pass blocking was a different story. Yes, Winston held on to the ball a little long, but they have to do a better job holding on to their blocks.

5. I wasn't a big fan of the scheme Pruitt put out there today. For some reason Florida State played zone with a soft cushion and let Idaho dink and dunk their way down the field multiple times. With the talent disparity between the Florida State defensive line and the Idaho offensive line I thought Pruitt should have called plays closer to the line.

6. Kenny Shaw finally got his 100 yard game this season. Really happy it happened on Senior day.

7. Devonte Freeman only needs to average 64 yards per game to be Florida State's first 1,000 yard rusher since Warrick Dunn.

8. Rashad Greene only needs to average 33.4 yards per game to be Florida State's first 1,000 yard receiver since Anquan Boldin.

9. Kenny Shaw only needs to average 57.3 yards to get to 1,000 yards as well.

10. How about Jacobbi McDaniel. Getting a pick in his final home game. Really happy for him.

11. Florida State had two more defensive touchdowns today. That brings the total to 8.

12. Jimbo loves balance in his offense. Well Florida State had 336 yards rushing and 309 yards passing. That's balance.

13. Aguayo set a national record with 78 straight extra points made.

14. This team also set the ACC record for most points scored in a season. There are three games left.

15. The 2010 recruiting class may go down as the most important class in Florida State history. These are the guys that made the turn around possible. I will miss seeing 81, 20, 31, 41, 52, 22, and 7 out there.

Additional notes: 1. Is it still great to be a Florida Gator? Losing to Georgia Southern is an embarrassment and Muschamp should be fired.

2. Johnny Football played terribly today. He effectively removed himself from the Heisman race today. Mariotta did the same thing. Both of their teams got crushed today.
