2015 Safety Commits to FSU

Florida State has added a commitment from a four-star safety for the 2015 class.

Miami (Fla.) Miami Central 2015 4-star safety Calvin Brewton has pulled the trigger and committed to Florida State. In addition to Florida State, Brewton had offers from Clemson, South Florida, UCF, Wisconsin, and West Virginia. Brewton has been to Florida State a few times, but his most recent visit really stood out to him.

"I really enjoyed the atmosphere at the Florida State-Miami game," Brewton said. "I have never seen anything like that before. I really enjoyed the Florida State fans."

The atmosphere wasn't the only thing that Brewton liked about the Seminoles.

"I've noticed how many players they have sent to the NFL. It is very impressive. I also like their graduation rate."

Brewton had been thinking about committing for a while, but he decided tonight was the time.

"I talked with [tight ends] coach [Tim] Brewster," Brewton said. "I just thought it was the right time to be a ‘Nole."

Now that he is on board Brewton has an idea of who he wants to come with him.

"I want my best friend Tyrek Cole to come with me," Brewton said. "He is committing tomorrow and it would be great if he became a ‘Nole with me."

The 6-foot-1, 180-pound Brewton is the No. 16 safety and the No. 214 recruit overall in the 2015 Scout 300.
