Free Throw Shooting Fails Seminoles in Loss

Florida State fell to NC State 74-70 on Wednesday night, dropping to 13-7 on the season.

With just over ten seconds remaining in the game the Florida State defense gets a stop, but fails to corral the rebound. Desmond Lee gets the offensive rebound and the put back layup that pushed the Wolfpack up four and ended the game. Florida State managed to stay close throughout the game despite the excellent play of sophomore forward T.J. Warren. Warren had 30 points and 7 assists before fouling out with a minute and a half left. Desmond Lee was the only other NC State player with over ten points.

Senior forward Okaro White led the Seminoles with 20 points and 7 rebounds. Ian Miller had 17 and Aaron Thomas had 12. Florida State went to the line 15 more times than NC State 26-11. Florida State only made 15 of them while NC State made 8. White missed four free throws within the last six minutes of the game.

The lone bright spot of the game for the Seminoles was the lack of turnovers. Florida State only turned the ball over 11 times, four under their season average.

Florida State falls to 4-4 in ACC play and 13-7 overall. The Seminoles will look to get back on track at home versus Clemson on Saturday at 3 P.M.
