Huge OT Roderick Johnson Signs with FSU

Florida State has landed perhaps its best offensive tackle prospect since Rick Trickett arrived with the commitment of Missouri tackle Roderick Johnson.

Everyone has penciled him into the class for months, but Missouri offensive tackle Roderick Johnson made it official today, signing his letter of intent to play at Florida State.

Johnson is a 4* prospect and rated as the #7 offensive tackle in the nation. This is a gigantic young man (6'6, 320) with long arms who is able to carry his weight easily. One of the first things that sticks out on tape is how light on his feet he looks even at 300+ pounds. He is a naturally strong kid with a good base and very good flexibility and bend for such a big man. He is already strong enough and physically developed enough to play early.

Johnson is still pretty raw and will need to improve his technique as he faces better athletes at the next level, but he will contend for a spot in the two-deep as a true freshman and has a very good chance to start in his second year at FSU.

Johnson chose Florida State over Ohio State.
