FSU Lands 2016 4-Star DT Cedrick Wood

It's early, but FSU has landed a gem up front for the 2016 class. Expect the local product to stick and be a cornerstone of his class.

Tallahasee (Fla.) Godby 2016 four-star defensive tackle Cedric Wood committed to Florida State at the Seminoles Junior Day on Saturday. Despite only being a sophomore Wood has offers from Auburn, Alabama, Florida, Indiana, North Carolina, and North Carolina State in addition to his Florida State offer. Wood was excited about his commitment.

"That is where I want to be," Wood said. "I love Florida State. I really like that the FSU coaches don't sugarcoat anything."

In February Florida State signed Godby linebacker Jacob Pugh who Wood is friends with.

"It really didn't affect me," Wood said. "That was just icing on the cake."

The 6-foot-3, 275-pound Wood said that he would like to play both defensive end and defensive tackle at Florida State. He is currently one of the twelve defensive tackles that have been rated by Scout for the 2016 class.
