Ira Denson Drama Finally Brought to Light

Why former four-star offensive guard Ira Denson is not presently with the Florida State football team.

Those on our premium forums know that we've been quite pessimistic about Ira Denson's future in a Seminole uniform, and the details behind that pessimism can finally be revealed.

The Tallahassee Democrat has reported that a Madison County man was arrested on Thursday on attempted murder charges for shooting another man in Tallahassee at the Seminole Ridge Apartments on December 22, 2013. On first glance, this may seem fairly innocuous, but the shooting is related to a dispute that involves both Denson and current Seminole running back Mario Pender.

According to the court documents, the short story is that Denson had stolen Pender's debit card, leading Pender to confront Denson to demand repayment using a pair of Denson's shoes as collateral.

At the meeting where the exchange took place, Tarron Addison (20) allegedly fired three to four shots at Pender's half brother, Tim Pruitt, with one of the bullets hitting Pruitt in the head, lodging behind his left eye. Pruitt was rushed to Tallahassee Memorial HealthCare and survived the shooting.

Neither player traveled to Pasadena for the BCS National Championship Game, where we first learned of the situation. Now that an arrest has been made and full details can be known, the story can finally be released.
