Four-Star LB Commits to Florida State

Hallandale (Fla.) Linebacker Sh'mar Kilby-Lane has committed to Florida State.

Hallandale (Fla.) four-star linebacker prospect Sh'mar Kilby-Lane has committed to Florida State according to his coach. Ohio State had previously been thought to be the heavy favorite for the 6'2, 220 pound prospect, but a visit to Tallahassee on Saturday apparently sealed the deal for Kilby-Lane.

A long prospect who is quicker than fast and very physical, Kilby-Lane projects as a Will (weakside) linebacker in Florida State's scheme. Kilby-Lane gives FSU two linebacker commits for the 2015 class, joining Lowndes (Ga.) prospect Brian Bell at the position.

Ohio State and Alabama have both pursued Kilby-Lane, and with so much time remaining in the process, FSU will have to fight to the finish here. But there's no question the Seminoles are certainly in the driver's seat moving forward.
