Florida State Practice Report: 10/6

Key Receivers are out as Florida State opens up practice in preparation for Syracuse.

Florida State starts the week in shells again. DeMarcus Christmas and Karlos Williams were both in walking boots. Rashad Greene and Trey Marshall were both not dressed on the stationary bikes. Austin Barron was not at practice. Neither was Christian Green. Derrick Mitchell was dressed after missing the Wake Forest game, but still looked to be hobbled from the knee injury. Sean Maguire’s hand injury was to his non-throwing hand.

Cam Erving was working with the first team at center with Bobby Hart and Rod Johnson rotating at left tackle. When Hart was at left tackle Chad Mavety was working at right tackle.

Travis Rudolph and Ermon Lane were getting a lot of coaching from Jimbo Fisher during drills today. Rudolph is expected to get his first start this weekend against Syracuse with Greene likely out and Lane is in position earn more playing time.

The running backs spent the first period working on their pass blocking. Mario Pender and Dalvin Cook were both getting coached up by Jay Graham as they are expected to carry the load this week with Karlos Williams out.

The defense spent the first period after special teams on tackling drills. It seems that after the NC State game a new weekly plan was implemented to work on the fundamentals every week.

Jimbo will not be speaking to the media today.
