Mathew Thomas Set To Return

Florida State will get talented redshirt freshman linebacker Mathew Thomas back from suspension for Notre Dame.

For the first time this season, linebacker Mathew Thomas will be eligible to play for Florida State. Thomas has been suspended for the first six games this season due to an undisclosed violation. Head coach Jimbo Fisher had been confident that Thomas would be able to return for the Notre Dame game, but was waiting on official word from the NCAA.He received that on Wednesday.

According to Fisher, Thomas has been working with the first and second team defenses for the past few weeks and will be ready to play on Saturday. Florida State has been rotating E.J. Levenberry, Reggie Northrup, and Terrance Smith at the Mike and Will linebacker positions, and Thomas will immediately be able to provide much needed depth at that position.
